Dell is the world's leading computer systems company. They design, build and customize products and services to satisfy a range of customer requirements. From the server, storage and professional services needs of the largest global corporations, to those of consumers at home.

Michael Dell started the company in 1984 with the revolutionary idea to sell custom built computers directly to the customer. With the power of direct and Dell's team of talented people, they are able to provide customers with superb value; high-quality, relevant technology; customized systems; superior service and support; and products and services that are easy to buy and use. I am a customer of Dell and can attest to these statements.

Dell uses a direct business model that starts and ends with the customers. They have literally defined the e-commerce business model. We should be able to use Dell as a quality case study for this course.
