Dr. Joseph Cotter
Dr. Cotter died in 2002. He served as co-chair of the committee preparing the Cullum 2003 program, and he inspired the selection of the topic for this series through his research on the Borderlands.

His paper is based on a book he wrote that was accepted for publication, titled Agronomy and Revolution in Mexico, 1880-1994.

Dr. Cotter received his Ph.D. in History from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1994. He taught at UCSB, the University of West Florida, and the University of Arizona before arriving at Augusta State University.

He served as co-chair of the 1999 Cullum Series, and was the author of a variety of articles on Latin America.
