Malaika Favorite is a self-employed artist and writer residing in Atlanta.

Her paintings have been shown in the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit; the Bass Museum of Art in Miami; and her work has been included in The Spirit of Martin, The Living Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a traveling show sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
From 1993-1995 Favorite was the artist in residence at the Baton Rouge Arts Council, and from 1989-1993 she was a part-time instructor at Augusta College.

She holds bachelor and master in fine arts degrees from Louisiana State University.
