Dr. Sunita George
Dr. Sunita George is an Associate Professor of Geography in the Department of Humanities at the Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. She earned both her M.A and Ph.D from the University of Georgia, Athens. She also holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the School of Planning at the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad, India. Her research interests include Third World development issues, Gender, Migration and the Indian Diaspora and Information Technology Employment in the U.S.
Dr. George was an invited speaker at the Annual Geography Awareness Week celebration at the Georgia College and State University, Millegeville, GA; The Annual Women Studies Symposium at the University of Georgia, and more recently at the Presidential Inauguration Symposium at Alabama State University. She is a co-author of "Fundamentals of World Regional Geography" a textbook currently used for freshman geography classes at Alabama State University.
