Dr. Glenn Wallis

Glenn Wallis is an assistant professor of Buddhism and Indian Religions in the Religion Department at the University of Georgia. Wallis received his Ph.D. in 1999 from the Department of Sanskrit and Indian Studies at Harvard University. Prior to that, he studied Sanskrit, Pali, and Tibetan languages in Berlin and Gottingen, Germany. He also holds a B.A. in philosophy from Temple University, Philadelphia. Wallis' publications include Mediating the Power of Buddhas: Ritual in the Manjusrimulakalpa SUNY Series in Buddhist Studies (Albany: State University of New York Press, 2002) and Verses on the Way: the Buddhist Dhammapada (New York: Random House, 2004, forthcoming), as well as articles on various aspects of medieval Indian Buddhism.
