What is Cullum? The Cullum Lecture Series is an inter-disciplinary program begun more than twenty years ago to provide students, faculty and staff of ASU access to nationally and internationally known speakers on diverse topics. Most series since its inception have focused on one country, though some, such as next year's series on health, cover topics that cross borders. The semester-long series, supported by the Cullum Foundation of Augusta, by ASU (special thanks to the Lyceum Committee for their financial support in bringing the Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival to campus, to the Film Series for bringing “Burnt by the Sun,” to Vice-President Sullivan for funding our Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Prof. Igor Kuzmin), and individual donations (thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Fleischer!) provide the campus and the community opportunities to hear experts in a variety of fields, view performances, see films, and tour art exhibits. This program was identified by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities as one of the country's ten most innovative programs. |
