Paul Harris joined the Augusta State facutly in the fall of 1998.  Dr. Harris' research interests are the policies and politics of international immigration: in particular, Russian speaking Jewish and Ethnic German repatriate immigration to Germany.  At present, he is part of a cooperative research effort with scholars in Israel, Germany and the U.S. examining the socio-cultural integration of Russian-speaking Jewish migrants in the three countries.  Dr. Harris has authored several book chapters and journal articles (in English, German and French) on the topic of Russian speaking Jewish immigration and he is currently completing a book length manuscript on the topic.  Prior to joining the faculty at Augusta State, Dr. Harris was a Friedrich Ebert Foundation Post Doctoral Fellow at The University of Muenster, Germany during academic year 1997-1998 and a Fulbright Scholar to Germany during academic year 1994-1995.  A native of North Augusta, S.C. he completed his masters degree through the joint Georgia Southern / Augusta College MPA program in 1991 and received his Ph.D. at Auburn University in 1997.
