Minutes
of November 11, 2002 were approved as distributed.
Agenda items: Old Business
1. Full-Time/Part-Time Faculty Ratio – Dr.
Sam Sullivan, VPAA, will be invited to meet with the FPC Monday, Nov. 25, to
discuss his work with finding the best balance of full-time and part-time
faculty members. Bill Dodd and Andy Hauger will request that Sullivan prepare a
brief and a copy of his handouts for the committee before the meeting.
2. Retention/Graduation Study – The
committee reviewed and made suggestions for the separate sections written by
Gordon Eisenman, Andy Hauger, Sabina Widner and Michelle Benedict, for a report
to go to President Bloodworth. The sections, plus additional paragraphs to be
forwarded by Cliff Gardiner and Bill Reese, will go to Jim Garvey for final
editing and the addition of an executive summary. The final report should be
ready by Monday, Nov. 25.
3. Retirement Benefits Survey of New Faculty
– A report presenting the results of the survey of new faculty about the
retirement benefits available at ASU should be ready
