Faculty Policies Committee Minutes

February 14, 2005

Members present: Marc Miller, Peggy Ruth Geren, Pam Hayward, Wayne Mixon, Bruce Saul, Donna Wear, Wendy Turner and Katherine Sweeney

Marc Miller called the meeting to order at 3:10 pm. The minutes of the January 31, 2005 and the February 7, 2005 meetings were approved unanimously as posted to the FPC intranet.

Marc reported that he is still working on the Faculty Manual changes and will have something for the group at the next meeting.

Faculty Evaluations-Donna Wear has not yet heard back from ITS concerning evaluation software. She will follow up with them.

Promotion and Tenure Committee Composition- Marc provided some background information for the group concerning the document he had posted to the FPC intranet. This proposal was made by a former FPC member. There was a lengthy discussion of the three alternatives proposed in the document. The group agreed to table the proposal pending the gathering of feedback from colleagues on campus.

Faculty Elections-Bruce Saul will create the list of faculty who are eligible to vote, as well as faculty who are eligible to serve.

Cullum 2007- Wendy Turner reported that several topic ideas were proposed for Cullum 2007. She will email the list of potential topics to the group. FPC will discuss them at the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 pm.
