Faculty Policies Committee Minutes

14 November 2005

Members present: Peggy Ruth Geren, Pam Hayward, Donna Hobbs, Pam Jackson, Wayne Mixon, Rick Pukis, Bob Reeves, Jana Sandarg, Bruce Saul, Mike Searles, Barry Thompson, Cathy Tugmon

•  Peggy Ruth called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm.

•  The FPC unanimously approved minutes from 7 November 05.

•  Cindy Craig from Learning Support/University College visited the FPC to discuss their role in student success at ASU. The FPC will confer on this subject at a future meeting.

•  The FPC revisited the presentation of “For Information Only” topics at faculty meetings. We were informed that the Academic Policies Committee has altered their paperwork to address this topic. It was decided that we would monitor the change and discuss it at a later meeting.

•  The FPC discussed appointing a “permanent” Cullum Committee member to insure continuity from year to year. The FPC will finalize this topic next week.

•  The FPC will address the results of our student retention discussions next week..

•  The FPC will reschedule our weekly meeting for 2:30pm during Spring Semester (06).

•  The meeting was adjourned at 4:20pm.
