Faculty Policies Committee Minutes

7 November 2005

Members present: Peggy Ruth Geren, Pam Hayward, Donna Hobbs, Pam Jackson, Wayne Mixon, Rick Pukis, Bob Reeves, Bruce Saul, Mike Searles, Barry Thompson, Cathy Tugmon

•  Peggy Ruth called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm.

•  The FPC unanimously approved minutes from 31 October 05 (with one minor correction).

•  Kathy Thompson from the Start Up/Enrollment Management Center visited the FPC to discuss the Center's role in student success at ASU. The FPC will confer on this subject at a future meeting.

•  Peggy Ruth summarized her meeting last week with President Bloodworth and Vice President Sullivan.

•  The FPC reviewed information about making editorial changes in the Faculty Manual.

•  The FPC discussed the presentation of “For Information Only” topics at faculty meetings. It was determined that this area will be visited at a later meeting.

•  Peggy Ruth asked that we consider appointing a “permanent” Cullum Committee member to insure continuity from year to year. The FPC will finalize this topic next week.

•  The FPC discussed the possibility of rescheduling our weekly meeting for Spring Semester.

•  The meeting was adjourned at 4:20pm.
