Faculty Policies Committee Minutes

13 March 2006

Members present: Peggy Ruth Geren, Pam Hayward, Donna Hobbs, Pam Jackson, Bob Reeves, Jana Sandarg, Bruce Saul, Mike Searles, Cathy Tugmon, Barry Thompson

1. Peggy Ruth called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm.

2. The FPC unanimously approved minutes from 27 February 06.

3. The FPC discussed the faculty grievance (against students) policy. We reviewed published policy and the time-lines used in the Jaguar Handbook and the Faculty Manual. Pam Jackson presented a standardized policy that could be used in both manuals. We will try to finalize the changes in next few weeks.

4. Eddie Howard, the Director of Student Activities, visited to discuss the mission of his department. He answered general questions about changes that have occurred since he started 18 months ago. The group discussed ways to work together to help our student population.

5. The meeting was adjourned at 4:35pm.
