Department Spotlight-Art
Augusta State University's nationally exhibiting and publishing art faculty is dedica
ted to guiding students from their first day in the studio all the way to professional art graduate programs and other professional opportunities after graduation. By choosing Art at ASU, your students will be choosing a curriculum that is designed to not only allow them access to the tools needed to develop their skills and talents as art makers, but also to enhance their conceptual knowledge of the art world.
Art students are encouraged to participate in exciting study-abroad courses, are potentially eligible for various scholarships, and are given the opportunities to display their work in various Student Exhibitions on campus. Degree Tracks include: General Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics, Printmaking and Photography, and Pre-Medical Illustration.
Our students benefit from small class size, individual attention, art scholarships, visiting artist programs, a departmental gallery, and student exhibition opportunities. ASU's art programs are also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
