Jamel Hodges
Jamel was born and raised in North Augusta, SC. He is a 2006 graduate from North Augusta High School. While in high school Jamel played Football, participated in Track and Field, and was a part of Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor Society).
Jamel is a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken with a
Bachelor’s of Education in Middle Grades with an emphasis in Math and Science.
Due to his scholastic efforts, Jamel received the Legislative
Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarship. While at USCA, Jamel
participated in numerous organizations on campus and was the first President of
the Aiken Chapter of Men Achieving Leadership Excellence and Success (MALES).
He was a Resident Assistant, Pacesetter (Orientation Leader), a Pacer Spirit Tour
Guide, and student employee of the USCA Office of Admissions.
Jamel
is involved in several organizations at ASU. He serves as a member of the Black
History Month Committee, coordinator of the African American Scholar
Recognition program, and assists with the African American Male Initiative
Summer Program -- The Winning Game Plan. He is also a member of the Georgia
Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO), the
Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO),
and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC).
Outside
of the office Jamel likes to spend time with friends and family, play recreational
sports, and watching sports, especially his favorite athlete, LeBron James.
