Dual Enrollment Admissions Requirements

A qualified high school junior or senior may take college courses while completing requirements for graduation from high school. This type of enrollment is designed to offer academically-gifted high school students opportunities not available in the high school curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Student must be at least 16 years of age
  • An overall high school GPA of at least 3.0 in courses taken from the required Required High School Curriculum (RHSC)
  • Combined SAT score of at least 1100 (or equivalent ACT scores), with a minimum of 530 Critical Reading and/or Math to take those respective courses.
  • Students must complete an online application through the ASU website.
  • Any further documents as requested by the ASU Office of Admissions

Students with the required test scores may fulfill their final high school units of English, Social Studies or Math with the appropriate college courses. Other college courses may be used to fulfill the RHSC requirements if those courses are not offered at the high school. These courses must meet the approval of the local high school and board of education.

Generally, Dual Enrolled students have completed their RHSC math requirements before their senior year and are prepared to take pre-calculus or higher level math courses.
