GED Freshmen Admissions Requirements


Applicants include students who would have graduated high school with in the last five years, but earned a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) instead. Students who would have graduated over five years ago are classified as Life Enrichment Freshman. Under most circumstances a GED applicant's high school class must have graduated prior to enrollment at ASU.

Official Documents needed:

  • GED Test Scores: Official certificate of passing test scores must be sent directly to Augusta State from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education.
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • Partial High School transcript
  • All sections of COMPASS examination
  • Any further documents as requested by the ASU Office of Admissions
University College:

Students who do not meet regular admissions requirements, may be eligible for admissions into University College , a two-year unit of Augusta State University . Students who are admitted into University College are limited to a maximum of 13 credit hours per semester and 1000 and 2000 level courses that are the required core for all majors offered at ASU. Exiting from University College is seamless and requires no action on the part of the student.

To exit University College , students must meet the following: satisfy all Learning Support requirements and RHSC deficiencies. Complete ASUO 1000 with a grade "C" or better. Complete area "A" of the core curriculum and earn 30 credits in the areas A-E of core. The overall GPA required is 2.0.

You must live in one of the following counties to eligible for admission into University College: Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren or Wilkes counties.
