International applicants who plan to apply for an F-1 visa are required by the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service to provide the university with a statement and supporting documents of financial ability for the first year of study before an I-20 can be issued. The required information is on page four of the International Student Application. Two original sets of supporting documents should be obtained. Attach one set to the application and use the other when applying for a visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. In addition to supporting documents, the applicant and parents or sponsors must complete and sign the "Sources of Funds" section of the Financial Statement. If this portion of your application is incomplete, we will not be able to complete your file. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) cannot be forwarded to you until an offer of acceptance has been extended. If it is determined that you are academically eligible to attend ASU, you will be required to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE tuition deposit of U.S. $2,000.00 by bank check payable to Augusta State University before ASU will issue your I-20. Once the offer of acceptance is extended, and your deposit is received, you will receive further detailed information about continuing the enrollment process at ASU. Estimated student expenses for one academic year (nine months) in U.S. dollars:
Total $22,010.00 If a spouse accompanies the student, please show an additional $3000.00 support. These amounts are in U.S. currency and are estimates, subject to change without notice. Historically, total costs have increased on the average of 3 percent per year. To provide support for international education, a provision exists that allows the non-resident portion of tuition to be waived for some international students at ASU. This is called the International Student Presidential Fee Waiver and is available through a petitioning process after the student has attended for two semesters. The waivers are limited in number and may not exceed two percent of the equivalent full-time students enrolled at the institution. Fee waivers are academically competitive and generally not available during the first year of enrollment. Go to the undergraduate student application instructions page
