Weekly Planners
Student Services offices, under the Vice President for Student Services, include the Career Center, Counseling Center, Disability & Testing Services, Financial Aid, Maxwell Theatre, Student Activities, and START UP Advising Center. These offices provide valuable services and help complete your college education. The brief descriptions below outline some of these services with contact names and phone numbers so you may seek further information.
Vice President for Student Services

Dr. Joyce Jones, VP for Students
The VP for Students is charged with the responsibility for providing experiences which will ultimately contribute to a comfortable and well-adjusted student and member of society. The office maintains information on housing and student insurance.
Career Center

Julie Goley, Director
The Career Center, located on the second floor of Boykin-Wright Hall, provides job placement and career information assistance to currently enrolled students and alumni of Augusta State University. They offer full and part-time job listings, resume and cover letter critiquing services, Cooperative Education opportunities, a career library, and much more. You should develop a working relationship with the center well before you plan to graduate.
Counseling Center

The Counseling Center provides services to promote personal growth and development. Through individual counseling and group workshops, the center can help you choose an appropriate college major, develop effective study and test-taking skills, and solve personal, academic, or vocational problems.
Disability & Testing Services

If you require any special assistance due to any physical disability or learning disorder, it is important that you contact the Disability Services Coordinator as soon as possible. Students with learning disorders should be evaluated by The University System of Georgia to help determine what level of assistance is necessary. They also administer several tests including CPE, CLEP, RTP, MAT, and GMAT.
Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office is your source of information on Federal and State tuition assistance, the work-study program, and student loans, scholarships, grants, and HOPE. Since applying for and receiving aid can be rather complicated, begin the process as soon as possible and be cooperative and patient throughout. Your Fall FASFA needs to be completed by May 1 each year to ensure timely processing.
International Students

Gina Thurman, Special Student Program Coordinator
Services for international students are available through the Dean of Students Office. Upon arrival, all new international students must check in Gina Thurman. Out-of-state tuition waivers are available for qualified international students. Activities planned for international students include Presidential receptions and a spring festival.
START UP Advising Center

The START UP Advising Center combines a variety of student advising and transition support programs designed to assist students in achieving their educational goals and accessing the full range of campus services and learning opportunities. Some of these programs include OARS, ACES, Q&A, and Major Decisions.
Student Activities

A number of services offered by Student Activities include JagCard student ID cards and Family Fun Series. The Student Government Association, student newspaper, magazine, and student clubs and organizations are coordinated through Student Activities.
