Understanding the University Structure
Weekly Planners
Advising departments are usually organized around a chairperson who assumes responsibilities for the administrative duties. Each department is part of a college which is headed by an academic dean. At Augusta State University, there are three colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration and Education. The deans report directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who reports directly to the University President. In addition to knowing your advisor and your advising department, you should become familiar with the chair of your department and your academic dean.
On this PDF you will find a general overview of the administrative structure of Augusta State University. This is included as a quick reference tool to clarify who reports to whom. You may want to add to this chart names of contacts in certain offices as you connect with different services and programs.
