Planning the Steps to Priority Registration
Weekly Planners
A few weeks after midterm, you may register for next term. (Students in Learning Support classes register after the end of the term - see LS Department, AH E323, 706-737-1685.) Consult the Registrar's website for specific dates and check with your advising department to determine how you should arrange to see an advisor.
Priority Registration is a three step process, as outlined below. It is very important to follow these in order. Trying to skip any part of these steps will result in difficulties and wasted time for you.
Step 1 Prepare for your advising session by reviewing your academic progress and degree plan. When you select courses and alternates for the next term, take into account any special conditions that may apply to you, such as CPC requirements. (Course offerings for the next term are available early on the web. Visit START UP on the 3rd floor of Washington Hall for assistance viewing the offerings online.)
With an advisor, complete a registration worksheet. Remember to clear all registration holds/fines (library and traffic fines, RTP holds, etc. - see ELROY on Campus Pipeline to check) to avoid delays when registering. (Students with "UCOLL Advising Required" holds must have a signed registration sheet.)
Clear all holds and satisfy any special conditions before attempting to register for any classes.
Step 2 You must register your classes following the campus schedule (see START UP for info). Ask in your advising department for the specific procedures you should follow. You should be able to register on Campus Pipeline with ELROY unless prevented by holds on your record. As always, be careful that you have the latest information from the best sources.
Step 3 You must make fee payment in full to the Business Office (Fanning Hall) by the due date to be officially registered. Fee payment may be made by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or officially awarded financial assistance. Confirm the amount due on ELROY (in the Registration menu, choose "Pay by Financial Aid or Credit Card" to see exactly what you owe). You may pay by credit card using ELROY, or you may choose to pay in person at the Business Office during regular office hours. Use ELROY to print out your schedule and verify that your fees are paid.
If you believe the financial aid information printed on your bill or obtained through ELROY is incorrect, you should consult with the Financial Aid office (Payne Hall, 2nd floor, 706-737-1431) well before the due date.
If you fail to have your fees taken care of by the due date (Friday, April 14 for Summer 2006 priority registration), you may lose your classes.
