Registering Early at ASU...

OARS is Augusta State University’s comprehensive Summer 2006 orientation program that assists you with initial registration. Following your acceptance to ASU, call (706) 731-7979 to reserve a seat for your earliest opportunity to register for Sum'06.

New accepted undergraduate students for Summer'06 may register early by participating in the OARS session. The full program guides you through the registration process, explaining the steps involved, providing helpful tips, advising you with course selection, and registering your classes. The entire process should take approximately 4-5 hours (Non-degree seeking students, i.e. Post-Bac, Audit, Transient, & Joint Enrolled, must register by category during general registration.)

To be eligible to register through OARS, you must first have completed your admissions process for Summer'06 including any required testing, or outstanding documents (certificate of immunization, official transcripts, etc.).
IMPORTANT: It is a good idea to bring all support documents with you to assist in your initial registration (for example, financial aid/scholarship information, acceptance letter, Transfer Credit Evaluation, copies of college transcripts, or notification of Advanced Placement or College Preparatory Curriculum deficiency).
Reserved Students: Arrive at the orientation site before 9:40 AM to allow ample time to obtain your registration materials, locate your seat, and review your OARS booklet, before the program begins promptly at 10:00 AM. (Late Arrivals may not be allowed to register.) Call 706-731-7979 by April 27 to reserve seat for Summer OARS.
As part of the registration process, you will receive advising support in the department which corresponds to the major (or undecided status) you indicated during the admissions process. (Students in the Learning Support program are advised by that department.)
OARS TIP: Visit ELROY on Campus Pipeline to correct information such as your major or address or phone number.
Fees will be due on the day you register. Fees may be paid with officially awarded financial aid, cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. See Summer'06 Fees here.
Depending on departmental loads and your preparation, you should complete the entire registration process, including fee payment, by about 2:30 PM.
If you do not register early through OARS, then you register during general registration days according to the published campus registration schedule for your classification (Freshman, Sophomore, etc.). Post-Bac, Audit, Transient, & Joint Enrolled (not eligible for OARS) register by category on the general registration days according to the published campus registration schedule.

Tour Appointments: (706) 737-1632: To arrange for a personal half hour tour of the campus, call the Admissions Office at least one week in advance to set up an appointment. Campus tours begin at the Benet House (Admissions).

Call For an Appointment: (706) 731-7979: After you are accepted and before attending Summer' 06 OARS registration, have your specific transition concerns addressed with an ASU Prep appointment. A staff member provides personalized support, clarifying your registration process and identifying key campus services.
OARS TIP: Locate your classrooms and the bookstore before your first day. Your professors will let you know which textbooks to purchase on the first day of class, but you once you have a printed schedule, take that to the bookstore and locate your books.
