Welcome to Augusta State University! We are glad you chose ASU as part of your college career. The following information was collected to provide answers to some questions common to non-degree seeking students classified as post-bac, post-grad, and audit. (Audit students do not receive academic credit.)

What is a non-degree seeking student?
A student for this type of limited enrollment seeks instruction in particular courses for personal or professional purposes. Every student registered at Augusta State University accepts the official academic regulations including prerequisites (refer to the current ASU catalog).

How do I register for classes at ASU?

The available courses are posted online near the beginning of Early Registration each semester. As a transient student, you should seek advising assistance in the department(s) offering the course(s) in which you wish to enroll if you have any questions. After selecting courses and establishing necessary on-line permissions (prerequisite bypass, permission only, etc.), follow the registration procedure outlined in UMAC's Registration Help.

Prerequisites are critical!
Consult the current ASU catalog and/or the academic department offering the courses for which you intend to register. Prior to registration, submit to the department in which the course is offered a transcript showing successful completion of required prerequisite courses. The department must then grant any required permission on-line before you may register for that course.

When may I register for classes?
Non-degree seeking students register by category, not by class year. Consult the published campus schedule for the day and time for Post-Bac, Post-Grad, or Audit registration.

How do I change my non-degree seeking student status?
For undergraduate programs, consult the ASU Admissions Office.

For a graduate program, you must apply to the department offering that program (phone numbers and locations listed below).

What about ID cards, parking permits, and books?
All students should have an JagCard student ID made when beginning at ASU. After paying your fees, take the receipt and a photo ID by the Student Activities Office (Jaguar Student Activities Center). This permanent card must be validated for each term of enrollment. The JagCard serves as your library card, is necessary for use of campus facilities and labs, allows free transportation on Augusta public buses, and provides free admission to most ASU plays, Lyceum programs, films, and home games.

Every student parking on campus must have an ASU parking sticker displayed on his or her car. These parking permits, valid through Summer term, may be purchased in ASU Public Safety (off Arsenal Avenue behind Allgood Hall).

Buy your textbooks after you have registered. The ASU Bookstore (Washington Hall, first floor) has extended hours on the first two days of each term. A used book exchange (Washington Hall lobby) is operated at various times during the first several days of classes (See posted hours).
