The graduation application process is initiated by the student who must
submit the completed application to the Registrar’s Office by midterm of the
term preceding the final semester of coursework. Students may pick up
applications from the Registrar’s Office or their advising department.
Step 1: Completing the Application
Student completes application with advisor, obtains appropriate signatures and turns application in to the Registrar’s Office.
§ Students should clearly PRINT their legal name on the appropriate line as they want it to appear on their diploma.
§ Attach major and/or minor departmental checksheet(s) listing all coursework being used to fulfill requirements and copies of any exceptions to degree or graduation requirements.
§ Obtain signature of advisor.
§ Obtain signature(s) of major and/or minor department chair(s).
§ On the application, list any remaining course requirements to be completed.
§ Indicate completion of all legislative requirements. Successful completion of HIST2111/2112 and POLS1101 satisfies these requirements. (For transfer students, see ADV102: Transfer Students.)
§ Indicate satisfaction of physical education requirements. (Indicate if under a quarter catalog waiver.)
§ Indicate graduation under quarter or semester catalog.
§ Pay $25 application fee to the business office and obtain signature of business officer on application. (Payment must be made by cash or check.)
§ Student must hand deliver the graduation application to the Registrar's office.
Step 2: Submitting the Application
Registrar’s office takes application and gives student information sheet about graduation (copies for departmental use are available from the Registrar’s Office). Some of the items addressed are:
§ dates and times of graduation and graduation rehearsal
§ purchasing cap and gown (ASU Bookstore)
§
purchasing invitations (ASU Bookstore)

Step 3: Initial Check by Registrar
Registrar’s office does initial check out for graduation and sends student information on requirements to be completed.
§ Students should make sure that a current mailing address and telephone number(s) are listed on the graduation application.
§ In the case of a question and/or problem with a student’s application, the Registrar’s office will first contact the advisor to clarify.
Step 4: Final Check by Registrar
Registrar’s office does final
checkout to insure that all requirements have been completed.
