2013 Professional and Community Education Trip Planned for Ireland

It's true. There really are 40 shades of green in the Irish countryside, and ASU's Professional and Community Education is offering the opportunity for you to see them yourself in a brand new program designed specifically for adult travelers.

If you've always wanted to visit Ireland but have been intimidated by the process of planning an overseas trip or just haven't had time to work on all the logistics yourself, then this new program is your chance to make the trip you've dreamed of a reality.

This 12-day tour focuses on traditional Irish music and Irish history and culture. You will visit the magnificent west coast of Ireland where Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley once reigned, the rolling hills of County Tipperary, and Ireland's capital city, Dublin.

This study tour has been designed by three Augusta State faculty members who are deeply committed to the study of Irish music, history, and culture. Faculty include noted Augusta musician Carl Purdy; ASU's History Department Chair Hubert van Tuyll; and Communications professor Debbie van Tuyll. All three are passionate about their Irish history, music and culture, and they look forward to guiding you as you experience this most enchanting country.
