“The ASU Literacy Center is very honored to have received this generous gift from PotashCorp,” said Paulette Harris, director of ASU’s Literacy Center and Cree-Walker Chair in the College of Education and Department of Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Special Education. “The funding will truly help us offer more learning opportunities to meet the needs of those who come to the center for tutoring.”
Harris says the funding will be used toward various aspects of the center including the expansion of tutoring services, the center’s lending library, and growing the interest of research opportunities at the center.
This is not the first time PotashCorp has partnered with Augusta State in offering educational opportunities to students and community. Earlier this year, the company gave a $10,000 gift to the university’s Department of Communications and Professional Writing to assist with the improvements of Augusta State’s television and cinema studio.
