“Isaac Holmes is an outstanding performer who has worked with the ASU Music Department several times over the past few years, notably with the ASU Opera Ensemble. His rich voice lends itself beautifully to the narrative role in Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. His performance with the orchestra will be a memorable one,” adds Dr. Morgan.
Mr. Holmes has performed as a soloist, dancer, instrumentalist, and chorister in the United States and in South Korea, Germany, France, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Belgium. Locally, he has performed with the University of South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, the Etherredge Center Orchestra, and the Augusta Symphony, in which he narrated a work dedicated to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The singer/actor received an Outstanding Actor award for his role as The Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He is also known for his role as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde in Jekyll and Hyde with the Augusta Players directed by Richard Justice.
Mr. Holmes is an assistant professor of music at Paine College where he is director of the College Choir. He also serves as artistic director and conductor of the Columbia County Choral Society.
