ASU's Alumni Association
hosts
annual dinner and awards ceremony
ASU's Alumni Association will recognize outstanding alumni and friends at their annual meeting and awards celebration Friday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m., at The Boathouse. Award recipients and their awards will include Paul Harris, associate professor in ASU's Department of Political Science, who will receive the Town and Gown Award.
A corporation will receive the Distinguished Service Award, and it will be presented to Augusta Coca Cola Bottling Company. "Augusta Coca Cola will receive this honor because of their commitment to ASU and the Alumni Association by providing product and sponsorships of countless events," says Wes Zamzow, coordinator of alumni relations.
Rhonda Oellerich, '00, vice president of sales for Keystone Homes and current Alumni Association president, will receive the Young Alumna Award; Alan Cooke, '73, retired station manager of WACG, will receive the Golden Key Award; and David 'Deke' Copenhaver, '91, mayor of Augusta, will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The association will also present the slate of the 2008-2009 board of directors and new officers. The slate of officers includes Scott R. Argo, '04, president; Rhonda L. Oellerich, '00, immediate past president; Andrea S. Turley, '85, secretary and treasurer; Dwight D. Johnson, '96 and '05, vice president for awards; Sherry A. Moore, '94, vice president for university relations; Ingrid T. Etterlee, '04, vice president for development; Mary Margaret Epps, '03 and '06, vice president for membership; and Jessica M. Zwanziger, '05, vice president for social. New board members include Mary Jane Clements, '06; Adam S. Williams, '03; Stacey R. Wilson, '99, '05, and '07; Melvin C. Heath, '05; and Charlie Tudor, '98, '01, and '04.
