  1. What has been the best part of winning Mr./Ms. ASU?

Sasha: Having the chance to represent Augusta State University and being able to work with new faces is one of the best parts. But, the part that overwhelmed me the most is how much support I was shown by family and friends before I was crowned Ms. ASU. That will stick with me forever.

John: The best part was being able to win with my mom right there by my side and making her and my dad proud!  Ha-ha!  Also, I believe the best part of winning Mr. ASU has yet to come.  I am excited and honored to represent this University and I can not wait to take advantage of every opportunity that is granted to me to aid in building up Augusta State!

  2. What are your goals for improving student involvement?

Sasha: I want to see more students come out for different events and involve themselves in other organizations. I am a firm believer that being involved improves education and personal growth.

John: The number one thing that I want for this school and the most important thing in my opinion is more student housing.  This will allow Augusta State to expand which will in turn create much more on-campus involvement.  I would like to see more housing over at Christenberry Field house in the future.  Also, the Jagswag council and I are working very hard to amp up the student involvement at basketball games as well as other sports.  We plan on getting sponsors for tailgates and different themes for each game.

  3. What is your favorite thing about being a student at ASU?

Sasha: I enjoy the class atmosphere and being able to communicate with other students easily. Being able to talk to my professors and having them as guides is a major advantage to help further my education.

John: School size and class size.

  4. What other activities/organizations are you are involved in?

Sasha: I am apart of Zeta Tau Alpha, work part time at Mainstream Boutique, and Volunteer for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center for various fundraising events.

John: Campus Outreach, Student Ambassador President, Biology Club, ASMS.

  5. Who is your favorite professor?  Why?

Sasha: Dr. Wear of the biology department is my favorite because she is a down to Earth easy going lady. She gets along with all her students and always has a smile on her face every day in class. This makes class enjoyable.

John: I have more than just one favorite professor.  It is hard for me to just name one, so I will just leave it at that.

  6. What do you plan to achieve upon graduation at ASU?

Sasha: After ASU I hope to get into Dental School and become the best dentist I can be. One thing I would really enjoy is traveling to different parts of the world to educate others on dental hygiene.

John: An overseas medical missionary doctor.

  7. Where is your favorite hang out on campus?

    Sasha: The library and food-court : )

    John: The JSAC cafeteria.

  8. What do like most about this area?

Sasha: I enjoy being near my family and ASU is here of course!

John: Food + friends = Good times.

  9. What is your favorite extracurricular ASU activity?  Why?

Sasha: The Pig Out is my favorite extracurricular activity because it’s free food and brings the ASU students out to meet new people

John: Intramural soccer and flag football.

  10. What has been your favorite memory so far at ASU?

Sasha: My favorite memory is holding the honor of the Ms. ASU title. Nothing can beat the pride I feel to have the privilege of representing Augusta State University.

John: The majority of my favorite memories come from when I became involved in Campus Outreach. I have so many great memories from just hanging out with friends to going on winter retreats and summer beach projects.
