The Internet has changed the way we communicate with people. People no longer wait for information to come to them - they seek it out.
 
For that reason, the ASU Alumni Association has launched a social networking initiative. As part of that, we'll use sites like Facebook and Twitter to build online communities of ASU alums. Alums can use those sites to network, keep up with campus news and find out about alumni association events.
 
"The Internet is the go-to place for information these days," says ASU Alumni Association vice president for PR, Jennifer Hilliard. "Social networking gives the association a global reach - the potential to get back in touch with hundreds of thousands of alums and provide them with a place to actively exchange information about their alma mater."
