The mission of the Department of Learning Support and University College is to provide access to post-secondary education for the citizens of the CSRA, to ensure appropriate academic placement by assessing each student's level of preparedness for college-level course work, to provide a curriculum that will increase the students' chances of achieving college-level proficiency in fundamental academic subjects, to provide a teaching/learning environment that sustains instructional excellence and promotes a high level of student achievement, and to facilitate the retention and graduation of students admitted through University College and Learning Support programs. University College and the Department of Learning Support are dedicated to preparing students for a full and successful matriculation into regular college-level course work, thus creating opportunities for intellectual and personal growth in an academic setting.
