The purpose of this assignment is to discover some places where programming is used.



Part 1: Web Pages

1. Run Netscape Communicator

2. Go to a web page you like (though not risque)

3. Print the page (or frame)

4. Under "File", select "Save As" or "Save Frame As"

5. Click on the file folder with the up arrow on it to go up one level in the directory structure.

6. Double click on "D:"

7. Press the Enter key.

8. Go to the Start button, select "Programs", then "Accessories", then "Notepad"

9. Start to open a document.

10. Go up one level in the directory structure

11. Select "D:"

12. Select the file you saved

13. Print

14. Close everything



Part 2: WordPerfect

1. Run WordPerfect 8. You might need to "Cancel" twice in this process since you do not have a disk in drive A.

2. Type in some text.

3. Highlight the text

4. Select "Tools", then "Macro", then "Play".

5. Select the macro Reverse.wcm.

6. You can change the color and/or fill amount. The highlighted text changes to reverse colors - white on the color chosen.

7. Print the document.

8. Close the document.

9. Start to open a document.

10. Go up levels on directories until you get to My Computer.

11. Select "Win95 on Vector (W:)"

12. Select folder "Appl", "Corel", "Macros", and then "WPWin"

13. Open the file Reverse.wcm

14. Print pages 1,2 and 10.

Part 3: Quattro

1. Go to the Start button, select "Programs", then "Spreadsheets", then "Quattro"

2. Start to open a document.

3. Go up one level in the directory structure

4. Select the folder "Samples"

5. Select the file Quiksave.wb3

6. Print

7. Press the F5 key and select "BACKUP_DIR"

8. Highlight the region I53-R64

9. Print
