LPN
to ADN Articulation Plan
The
purpose of the LPN to ADN Articulation Plan is to facilitate the educational
progression of LPNs through the Associate of Science in Nursing program. Articulation recognizes a common core of
knowledge and psychomotor skills existent within each nursing program. The LPN to ADN Articulation Plan is a
cooperative effort between St. Joseph Hospital and Augusta State University in
response to the increased community needs for registered nurses.
The
Articulation Plan provides qualified LPNs a summer LPN Transition Course (NURS
1103) of 6 credits that allows the LPN to exempt the first two semesters of the
nursing program (NURS 1101 and NURS 1102).
Students who successfully pass the transition course, and the Regents
Examination in reading and writing will progress into the second year of
Augusta State University’s nursing program.
