Jags At NCAA Championships
Cold temperatures, snow showers forecasted

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State women’s cross country squad will make its first-ever NCAA Championships appearance this weekend in Slippery Rock, Pa.

The Jaguars arrived in northwest Pennsylvania late Thursday afternoon to temperatures in the 20’s and the threat of snow showers on Friday and Saturday. The forecasted high temperature for Saturday afternoon’s NCAA Championships is 28 degrees. Slippery Rock University is the host institution for the event. (More)

Jaguars host Benedict in doubleheader Saturday

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- For the fourth consecutive season, Augusta State Athletics will provide live streaming audio and video of the entire 2008-09 men’s and women’s basketball home schedule.

The Lady Jaguar and Jaguar basketball squads officially open their respective seasons on Saturday, Nov. 22 in a doubleheader with Benedict College of Columbia, S.C. (More)

Cross Country squad wins PBC Sportsmanship Award

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State women’s cross country team and Francis Marion men’s cross country team are the first two recipients of the PBC Team Sportsmanship Award. This is the first year for the awards program and the Team Sportsmanship Award.

The program presents an award following each championship season to the team in that sport that best exemplifies sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class. (More)

The 2007-08 Augusta State women’s and men’s basketball teams will be recognized prior to Saturday evening’s season opener with Benedict in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The 2007-08 women’s squad, which advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, will receive its Peach Belt Conference championship rings in a ceremony prior to its 5:30 p.m. tipoff with the Benedict Lady Tigers. (MORE)

AUGUSTA, Ga. --
Augusta State head men’s golf coach Josh Gregory announced the signing Wednesday of Shawn Yim to a national letter-of-intent.

He is the first early signee for the Jaguars, now in their seventh season under Gregory’s direction.

Yim, a prep product from Mill Creek High School in Buford, Ga., is currently ranked No. 56 in the 2009 recruiting class by the American Junior Golf Association. (MORE)
