AUGUSTA, Ga. - Augusta State head volleyball coach Sharon Bonaventure announced Thursday the second addition to her recruiting class.

Lagi (pronounced Lonnie) Roberts, a 5-8 outside hitter from Columbus, Ga., will join the Jaguar volleyball program for the Fall, 2009 semester. (More)

Augusta State places 72 on Presidential Honor Roll

AUGUSTA, Ga. - For the fourth consecutive year, Augusta State has increased its representation on the Peach Belt Conference’s Presidential Honor Roll, PBC com­missioner Dave Brunk announced recently. In all, 836 student-athletes from the 11 PBC-member institutions were cited for their academic excellence.

ASU had 72 student-athletes named to the 2009 PBC Presidential Honor Roll, up from 69 in 2008, 56 in 2007 and 49 in 2006. (More)

 

Cooper Named To ASU Baseball Post
Assistant tabbed to replace 25-year veteran Fite

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Former Augusta State standout and current assistant coach Chris Cooper has been promoted to head baseball coach, according to an announcement Friday afternoon from ASU Director of Athletics Clint Bryant.

One of the top power hitters in ASU history, Cooper recently completed his ninth year of affiliation with the Jaguar baseball program and his seventh year as an assistant coach. (More)
