ASU Netters Suffer Sweep To Armstrong Atlantic
Jags fall to Pirates, 8-1; AASU blanks Lady Jags, 9-0

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Augusta State's tennis squads suffered their first losses of the season Saturday, as they fell to Armstrong Atlantic State in Peach Belt Conference action. The men's team lost 8-1 to the Pirates, while the Lady Jags suffered a 9-0 defeat.

Augusta State's men's squad falls to 5-1 overall, 0-1 in conference action, while the women move to 2-1 overall, 0-1 in the PBC.

In men's action, No. 12 ranked Armstrong Atlantic State took all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches.  The lone win for ASU came in the #1 singles match, as Raul Intriago defeated the Pirates' Robert Jendelund 6-4, 3-6, (9-7).

The No. 2 Lady Pirates picked up victories in all six singles matches and each of the three doubles matches.

ASU's men's squad returns to action Feb. 15th, as they travel to Due West, S.C. to face off against Erskine. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m.  The Lady Jags are off until Feb. 19th, as both the women's and men's team face Fort Valley State in a home matchup at 2 p.m.
