27th Ranked Women's Tennis Defeats Anderson College 7-2

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State won the top two doubles matches without losing a game and lost just five games in singles to beat Anderson College 7-2 in a women's non-conference match Friday afternoon. With the win, ASU improves to 11-7 on the season.

The doubles tandem of Ana Skafar and Norma Rovira defeated Katie Sexton and Zan Elvington, while Patricia Zurita and Patricia Lozano shutout Shelley Davis and Kristen Lambert. Both teams won by an 8-0 score.

In singles action, ASU picked up straight set wins from Skafar, Zurita, Rovira, Ashley Abrams and Lozano.  AC's two victories both were defaults at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Anderson is now 5-6 this spring.
