Tennis Falls to Clayton State in PBC Tournament

SPARTANBURG,
SC -- The Augusta State women's tennis team ended the Peach Belt Conference
tennis tournament on a sour note Friday, falling to fourth-seeded Clayton
College and State 6-0. The Lady Jaguars, seeded eighth in the tournament, began
the tournament Thursday with a 5-3 win over USC Aiken and a 5-0 loss to
Armstrong Atlantic.
Clayton State swept the doubles action and then picked up three straight set wins in singles action to sweep the contest. Nathalie Collantes defeated ASU's Patricia Zurita 6-3, 6-4, Natalia Koulechova defeated Norma Rovira 6-3, 6-0 and Elizabeth Syrova defeated Maria Zevallos 6-1, 6-0. The remaining singles matches were not completed.
