Fall to GC&SU In Tennis Action

AUGUSTA,
Georgia – The Augusta State
women's tennis team suffered their third straight loss of the season Wednesday,
as they fell to Georgia College & State University 9-0. The loss brings the
Lady Jags' record to 0-3.
GC&SU opened by sweeping the three doubles matches. Luiza Biktyakova and Chenelle Kruger won 8-6 at No.1, while Anna Shchupak and Rachael Porsz won 8-0 at No.2 doubles. Anna Davidsson and Kremena Vassileva completed the sweep with a 9-8 win at No.3 doubles.
In singles play, Biktyakova defeated Ana Skafar 6-2;6-0 at No.1, while Shchupak rallied for a 4-6;6-1;6-4 victory over Patricia Zurita at No.2. Davidsson, Kruger, Porsz and Vassileva won their singles matches in straight sets to pull out the 9-0 victory.
ASU's next match is Tuesday against Catawba
College in Salisbury, N.C. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
