Wilkerson Tabbed To All-PBC Squad

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State’s Shannon
Wilkerson was named to the 2008 Peach Belt Conference
All-Conference squad, the conference office announced
Wednesday.
A sophomore rightfielder from Dacula, Ga., Wilkerson
enjoyed a tremendous season in 2008. He ranked among the
Peach Belt Conference’s top 10 in nine offensive
categories and paced the Jaguars in batting average
(.380), slugging percentage (.718), hits (81), doubles
(18), home runs (16), RBI (57) and stolen bases (14).

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College & State swept a
Peach Belt Conference doubleheader from Augusta State on
Senior Day Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field.
The Bobcats jumped ahead 5-2 in the first game and
went on to a 9-4 victory in a contest that was delayed
1:16 by rain and lightning.
Danny McCorkell went 3-for-5 for GCSU while Sean
Harrell had a pair of hits. Derek Johns drove in a
game-high three runs and Harrell had a pair of RBI.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State dropped to
Georgia College and State, 14-4, Saturday afternoon in a
Peach Belt Conference matchup.
The Bobcats jumped on the board first with an RBI
from Richard Pirkle to drive in Derek Johns. The Jags
answered back in the bottom of the second inning with a
two-run homer from Alex Walker.
