Sophomores Kreutzer, McCane named to All-Academic squad

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Two members of Augusta State’s cross country team were recently named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, according to a recent announcement from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s headquarters in New Orleans, La.

ASU sophomores Kara Kreutzer and Kaci McCane were just two of four Peach Belt Conference student-athletes to earn the honor. Georgia College & State’s Bonnie Ueltzen and Heather Raines were also selected to the squad.

In all, 202 female student-athletes from 99 Division II programs were named to the All-Academic team. The University of Tampa led all Division II institutions on the list with seven All-Academic team members. Seattle Pacific and Kutztown each had six members on the All-Academic team. Bentley, Missouri Southern State, Nebraska-Kearney, Pittsburg State and Stonehill each had five student-athletes on the All-Academic team.

To qualify for the individual All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have completed 24 semester or 36 quarter hours and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The student-athletes must also finish in the top 30 percent of individual participants at their respective regional cross country championships.
