Jaguar Invitational Set For Saturday
Fourth-ranked Jaguars headline field at Blanchard Woods Park

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta State women’s cross country program hosts the Jaguar Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.

ASU, ranked fourth in the latest Southeast Region rankings, is coming off a third-place showing in the Georgia Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 19 in Athens, Ga. The Jags began the season with a victory in the UNCP Invitational in Lumberton, N.C., on Sept. 5.

Freshman Holly Keeper has posted ASU’s best finishes in the squad’s first two events. She took second in the UNCP Invite, earning Peach Belt Conference Runner-of-the-Week honors, and followed with a 19th-place showing at the UGA Invite.

The field for the Jaguar Invitational includes ASU, Benedict, Berry, eighth-ranked Florida Tech (South Region), Georgia Southwestern and USC Aiken. The men’s race will feature Benedict, ranked No. 3 in the South Region, as well as Anderson, Coker, Erskine, Florida Tech, Morehouse, Newberry and Paine College.

The women’s 6K race will get underway at 8:15 a.m., with the men’s 10K run set to start at 9:00 a.m.

All fans are encouraged to arrive by 8:00 a.m., as meet officials will block off the entrance to Blanchard Woods at the beginning of the women’s race.
