EVANS, Ga. – Augusta State finished third Saturday morning during the women’s 6K race in the Jaguar Invitational at Blanchard Woods Park.

Berry College swept the women’s and men’s races, posting the top three women’s times and three of the top six men’s finishes.

Sophomore Savannah Sutton posted the Jaguars’ top effort, crossing the finish line sixth in a time of 25:53.60. Sophomore Angela Woodward was 10th and senior Sophie Baconnet gave ASU three top-15 finishes when she crossed the line 14th.

Four other Jaguars turned in top-25 showings -- sophomore Kathleen Kennedy (20th), sophomore Lyndsay Nichols (21st), freshman Ivori Sneed (22nd) and senior Kara Kreutzer (24th) -- while junior Marybeth Sardinia managed to finish 29th.

ASU freshman Holly Keeper and sophomore Shelby Sutton didn’t participate in the event due to illness.

Berry’s Courtney Cooper won the women’s race with a time of 24:41.80, while Florida Tech’s Vincent Poczekajlo took the men’s 10k race with a time of 34:34.40.

ASU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 3 when the Jags travel to Louisville, Ky., to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic.
