Season Capsule:
The Catawba men’s basketball team got off to a rough start this season, winning just two of its first eight games, but a win over Lander sent the Indians into the holiday break with a little momentum and the Tribe has rolled from there. In its first games after Christmas, Catawba recorded wins over East #1-seed Barton and the South Atlantic top-seed, Augusta State.
The Indians would split its first four league games then posted 11 wins in 12 games to take the conference championship by a single game. Catawba ran its win streak to 11 games before falling in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship game to Wingate.
Antonio Houston, the SAC Freshman of the Year, leads the Indians in scoring at 16.9 points per game. Senior Chris Wooldridge, a first team All-SAC pick, is scoring at a 16.0 clip, while grabbing a team-high 7.6 rebounds. Senior Brian Graves, also a first team All-SAC selection, adds 13.5 points and ranks in the top 10 of NCAA II in assists at 6.5 per contest.
