Season Capsule:

Dave Robbins Chris Greene This season Virginia Union University turned in an impressive 21-5 mark, but saw its streak of three consecutive CIAA Championships snapped. The Panthers, however, were not deterred from their goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament.

After falling to Elizabeth City State University at the 2007 CIAA basketball tournament, the Panthers earned an at large bid to the 2007 NCAA Tournament as the 2nd seed in the South Atlantic Region.

VUU is looking to make its 3rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship game. The Panthers won the National Championship in 2005, and finished as the National Runner-Up last season.

This year, the Panthers have been led by 2007 All-Conference and 2007 CIAA All-Tournament team selections, Brad Byerson and Chris Greene, who are both averaging 15 points per game respectively.
