AUGUSTA, Ga. --
Augusta State Athletics officials announced a pair of strategies Tuesday to
enhance the fan experience during the 2008 NCAA South Atlantic Regional at
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Tickets to the regional, which begins Saturday at noon, are available online for the first time through the combined efforts of the ASU ITS (Information Technology Services) Department and the Maxwell Performing Arts Theater.
Single-session, general admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the official website of ASU Athletics – www.aug.edu/athletics -- by following the link to the ticket information. There are no reserved seats and no passes of any kind will be honored.
The first session of the South Atlantic Regional will consist of two quarterfinal matchups Saturday afternoon, scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. After the interior of Christenberry Fieldhouse has been cleared, the second session will begin with the third game of the day at 6:00 p.m. and conclude with the fourth and final quarterfinal contest at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets may also be purchased in the ASU Ticket office each day Wednesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Online ticket sales will close Friday at 5:00 p.m.
On Saturday, ticket sales in the ASU box office are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., one hour before the first game of the day. The box office will open at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, one hour prior to the first semifinal contest, and at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, one hour prior to the championship game.
ASU Public Safety officials have also arranged a shuttle service to improve the traffic flow in and around Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Once the CFH parking lots have reached maximum capacity, the ASU Department of Public Safety will implement a shuttle operation that will direct fans to the Sav-A-Lot parking lot adjacent to Vallarta’s Mexican Restaurant on Wrightsboro Road, less than a quarter-mile from the CFH entrance.
Director of Public Safety Jasper Cooke is also encouraging all fans to carpool to the regional. The shuttle operation is scheduled to run on Sunday and Tuesday as well.
