AUGUSTA,
Ga. – Augusta State held its ground in the second Southeast Region poll of the 2009-10 regular season, released Wednesday, Feb. 3 by the NCAA.
The Jaguars are one of five Peach Belt Conference schools to appear in the second regional rankings, joining No. 2 Georgia College & State, No. 3 Francis Marion, No. 8 USC Aiken and No. 10 North Georgia. ASU owns a 3-1 record against the other four teams.
The top eight teams in the final Southeast Region poll of the regular season will earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The Jags, currently ranked No. 12 in the nation, sit at 18-2 overall and 10-1 in the PBC following Wednesday night’s 73-59 victory over USC Aiken in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jags travel to Greenwood, S.C, on Saturday, Feb. 6 to take on Lander at 3:30 p.m. in a PBC matchup at Finis Horne Arena.
