Jags Move Up To Seventh In Region
ASU improves two spots in latest South Atlantic Regional poll

ASUAUGUSTA, Ga.-- Augusta State moved up two spots in the latest South Atlantic Region rankings released Wednesday afternoon. The Jaguars are in the poll for the fourth consecutive week. After one week at No. 10, ASU spent a pair of weeks ranked ninth.

The Jaguars, winners of three straight heading into tonight's Peach Belt Conference matchup with UNC Pembroke, are coming off back-to-back victories over nationally-ranked opponents. ASU upended No. 20 Clayton State 66-56 last Wednesday, Feb. 8 on the road, then took down No. 25 Columbus State 73-70 on Saturday, Feb. 11 on Homecoming in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

A victory over the Braves would give the Jags their longest winning streak of the season at four games. ASU has five regular-season contests remaining before the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, set for March 1-5 in Greenwood, S.C.

The Jags enter play Wednesday at 12-10 overall and 8-7 in the PBC.
