AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State's Tyrekus "A.J." Bowman was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team
released Tuesday by the league office.
A 6-5, 178-pound sophomore forward from Tignall, Ga., Bowman led the Jaguars in scoring (12.9 ppg.) and rebounding (7.4 rpg.) during the 2005-06 regular season. Bowman ranked among the PBC leaders in scoring (13th), rebounding (fourth), field goal percentage (fourth) and blocks (sixth).
He led ASU in scoring 12 times during the regular season and posted 19 double-digit scoring efforts on the year, including a stretch of nine straight games from Jan. 7 through Feb. 4. He also paced the Jaguars in double-doubles with five (scoring and rebounding).
ASU, the No. 6 seed in the Peach Belt Conference Men's Championship, takes on No. 3 seed Armstrong Atlantic State on Friday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Finis Horne Arena on the campus of Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.
