AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State men's basketball signee Daniel Dixon recently participated in the Virginia High School Coaches Association All-Star Game in Hampton, Va.

The contest, which has been played annually since 1972, featured the top 24 players in the state of Virginia. Dixon was a member of the West squad.

A 5-foot-9, 150-pound guard from Falls Church, Va., Dixon averaged 16 points and 2. 5 assists per game as a senior and team captain for Marshall High School. As a senior, he helped lead Marshall to a 20-10 record and a berth in the Class AAA state semifinals. He was a first team All-Liberty District selection as well as a Northern Region All-Tournament team pick. Dixon was the third signee for head coach Dip Metress during the spring signing period.

The Jaguars return two starters and eight lettermen from last year’s squad that finished sixth in the Peach Belt Conference regular-season standings and advanced to the PBC Tournament quarterfinals.
