Augusta State sophomore center Garret Siler scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Jaguars to an 83-70 Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia College and State Wednesday night in Centennial Center.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. --
Augusta State sophomore center Garret Siler scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Jaguars to an 83-70 Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia College and State Wednesday night in Centennial Center.
Siler was one of five Jags to reach double figures. Freshman guard Kip Small set a career-high in scoring for the second straight game, finishing with 15 points, three assists and three steals. Junior forward AJ Bowman had 14 points, while junior guard Demetrius Howard and freshman forward Ben Madgen each added 11 points.
Shaun Keaton paced four Bobcats in double figures with 21 points.
With the win – the Jags third straight – they improved to 11-3 overall and 3-0 in PBC play. The loss dropped GCSU to 10-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.
ASU, which cracked the 80-point plateau for the seventh time in the last eight games, shot exactly 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Bobcats 42-36.
In the women’s contest, GCSU held Augusta State to just 16 first-half points and went on to a 55-46 victory over the Lady Jaguars.
Sophomore center Sherika Parker posted the first double-double of her ASU career, tallying a team-high 12 points and 10 rebounds and matching her career high in both categories. She was the only Lady Jag to reach double figures in scoring. Junior guard Deo Ngulela had a team-high four assists and freshman guard Jasmine Godwin had four steals in her first start.
Cassie Miliner led the Lady Bobcats with 14 points and Lindsey Smith added 12.
GCSU (11-3, 2-1 PBC) shot just 36.4 percent from the field while ASU managed just 33.3 percent shooting.
The Lady Jags (8-5, 0-3 PBC) won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the hosts 48-30, but suffered 31 turnovers.
ASU hosts USC Upstate Saturday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader at Christenberry Fieldhouse, beginning with the women’s contest at 2:00 p.m. with the men’s matchup to follow at 4:00 p.m.
